Education is something I think a lot about, having taught for six years, and now having my very own child to experiment on. Being an (excessively?) big picture person, I've gotten progressively more skeptical of the industrial model of education, and reading Peter Grey's Free to Learn and Salman Khan's One World Schoolhouse has made me want to synthesize my thoughts on the subject into something coherent and comprehensive. Writing always forces me to refine my thoughts, but I haven't been successful with doing that on my own. Apparently I need at least some sort of audience, even if that audience is an imaginary internet one, so my goal is to post some thoughts every Tuesday. We'll see how that goes...
